Communities Talk About: Preventing Fentanyl Use by Youth and Young Adults Webinar

This June, SAMHSA’s Communities Talk to Prevent Alcohol and Other Drug Misuse team hosted a lively panel discussion where participants learned how fentanyl use as well as fentanyl laced with other substances such as xylazine is a growing threat to young people. Participants were able to hear from SAMHSA’s Acting Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention about prevention efforts and interventions SAMHSA is working on in this space. Participants also heard from leaders of other federal agencies like the Drug Enforcement Administration about ways it is preventing drug misuse among young adults through its programming like One Pill Can Kill public awareness campaign and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s response to the fentanyl crisis and prevention efforts and programming its implementing throughout the country. Watch the on-demand recording on SAMHSA’s YouTube channel.
