Marijuana, Weeding Out The Truth 2018

The target audience for this forum are community stakeholders including civic leaders, legislators, mayors, government agencies, law enforcement, school teachers, administrators and superintendents, prevention and treatment providers, local businesses, parents and families, and faith-based communities. This event is hosted by Rider University and the ONE VOICE initiative (The Prevention Coalition of Mercer County, the Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s office). This forum will focus on finding balance with marijuana legalization efforts, legal considerations after legalization and use, “pot shops,” policy caveats and concerns, municipal ordinances, safety concerns, enforcement of illegal use, marketing and perceptions of students and children, children and marijuana products, monitoring and expectations, and tax policies.

Cathleen Lewis is  a council woman and former mayor of Lawrenceville Township and is a prominent voice on transportation and motorist issues.

Honorable Stephen D. Reid
Mayor, Borough of Point Pleasant Beach
Stephen Reid has been the mayor of Point Pleasant Beach since 2016,  where on December 19, 2017, the council voted unanimously to ban the sale of both medical and recreational marijuana. Mayor Reid has several years of experience in public affairs and focusing on projects and issues that affect New Jersey.
